The landmark Northern Power Station boilers were successfully felled at the Northern Power Station site in Port Augusta this morning, the ninth of November. The two 10,000 tonne structures were demolished at 9:00am using charge-cutting explosives, making it one of the largest explosive charge felling events ever to be undertaken in Australia.
There's only one way across town in Port Augusta and for an hour today Shut Down Australia did just that forcing the closure of the bridge. 500 to 600 people, from all walks of lives and ethnicities, joined together to send a message around Australia and via social media to the world simply stating the forced closure of remote communities all across Australia will not be tolerated. As a big believer in solidarity and the strength of standing as one it was amazing to see all of the men painted up joining together surrounded by the letters of Sovereignty. The minutes silence on the bridge also made a huge impact remembering elders passed.
Dolphin Fish make infrequent visits to Port Augusta. The theory is they come down the warm water currents along the Western Australian Coast. That in some years connects with the Flinders current that runs West to East along the bottom of Australia, as the water cools the fish take the first turn North which is Spencers Gulf. The Dolphin fish they get stranded at the top of the gulf. Unfortunately these fish will strand them selves in the shallows.

Welcome to Sportfishing Scene's youtube account! This is our first video, so please let us know what you think in the comments section. We'll be making more videos of our trips like this, so make sure you keep up-to-date and subscribe! In this video, Darren from the shop and Adam (Trippa) head out to Port Augusta in South Australia. As you can see, they found several large kingfish in a single session, caught on live and dead squid downrigged, as well as jigs. There will be a part 2 to this trip, so keep an eye out! Cheers, SFS
